The online alt text audit

When you enter a page address in the audit tool, our server downloads that public page and analyses the alt text of its images.

• What we keep: the address of the audited page, the date, the resulting score and the number of images per category. This data is used to measure how the tool is used and to produce aggregate statistics on alt text quality.
• Your IP address is never stored: it is turned into a non-reversible fingerprint used only as a counter, to cap the number of audits per hour. That fingerprint is deleted automatically after one hour.
• No image is ever sent to a third-party service, or to any artificial intelligence model. The whole analysis runs on our own server.
• Retention: the history is capped at the 1,000 most recent audits; older entries are deleted.

Only audit pages you are entitled to analyse. If a page address contains personal information, please do not submit it.

Forms

The update-notification form only asks for your email address. It is used solely to tell you about Filikod releases. It is never sold or passed on to anyone, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time.

Audience measurement

Google Analytics, only with your consent. If you click “Accept” in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

On our side, Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, the Google Analytics cookies expire after 13 months at most, and Google Analytics keeps event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.

If you click “Decline”, or make no choice, the Google Analytics script is not even loaded and no request is sent to Google.

Our own page counter. The site also counts, per page and per day, the number of views and of clicks to the plugin page on wordpress.org. It sets no cookie, keeps no IP address (only the same one-hour fingerprint used to cap abuse) and stays off if your browser sends “Do Not Track”.

Cookies

Two cookies are needed for the site to work and are exempt from consent: pll_language remembers the language you picked, and cookieadmin_consent remembers your cookie choice for 6 months.

Two cookies are set only if you accept audience measurement: _ga and _ga_713L7RNCQ9, from Google Analytics, for 13 months at most.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.

People who log in to the admin area also receive WordPress session cookies. Their visits are never sent to Google Analytics.

Fonts

The site fonts (DM Sans) are loaded from the Google Fonts servers, which passes your IP address to Google Ireland Limited. We plan to self-host them to remove that external call.

Server logs

Our host keeps connection logs (IP address, date, requested page) for security and technical diagnostics, in line with its own obligations.

The plugin installed on your site

This one matters: the Filikod plugin installed on your WordPress sends us nothing at all. It contacts no external server, requires no API key, creates no account and uses no artificial intelligence service. Everything it analyses stays on your side.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data. Write to neme@lyode.fr and you will get an answer within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.
